The story of my trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in January 2007

Thank you for visiting Eddie's fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

As some of you may be aware, I have decided to take a gentle stroll up Mount Kilimanjaro.

The reasons I am doing this are:

1: I am mad

2: I was drunk when I signed up to this

3: As a tribute to my Dad who battled so bravely against this terrible disease for over 18 months, only for his fight to end in January.

4: As a BIG THANK YOU to the Macmillan nurses who looked after my Dad, my Mum and the rest of the family and gave the support and courage to carry on.

The training and fundraising will be a challenge in itself. Then we get to the trek, with Kilimanjaro being just short of 20,000 ft above sea level, well I struggle taking the lift to the 4th floor at work..........it will involve many hours of pain and torture. Which I'm sure will make a few of you smile!!! However, the physical and mental pressure we will put ourselves under to complete this challenge is nothing compared to the hard work of Macmillan staff and the suffering of the people they care for. Please give generously but any amount sponsorship given to support us and Macmillan is very much appreciated and will go a long way to helping Macmillan help others.

If the money we raise helps stop just one person from suffering this terrible disease then it will have been more than worthwhile.
