It's been 15 months since we rolled into Lands End after 900 miles on the bike from John O'Groats with a half marathon thrown in just for added fun, having completed the 12 challenges in 12 months for the Year of Madness......

So we have done it.....Kayaked 11 miles across the length of Winderemere before jumping on the bikes and heading to London, via Ingleton,

The answer is the Alternative Triathlon.

What is the Alternative Triathlon I hear you cry???

It all starts around 6am on Tuesday 21 April when we will canoe the length of Windermere (10.5 miles). We will then jump on the bikes and cycle the 50 miles to Inglebourgh in the Afternoon.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be spent cycling the remaining 260 miles or so to London. Saturday we will try and fix any pains and injuries before running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April.

The team undertaking this momentous challenge is:

Eddie Whittle

John McDonough

Jonathan Smith

Gareth Beard

Running the marathon is Michael Sharp.

Why are we doing this? A very good question!!!

We have all seen the pain and suffering that life can throw at us first hand both with family members and good friends. All have gotten through the tough times with the help of some amazing charities. Our aim is to say thank you to these charities and do our bit to give something back.

The charities we are supporting for the Alternative Triathlon are:
